Maryknoll Sisters Monthly Appeal

The Maryknoll Sisters, based in Westchester County, NY, help people through their mission work in 19 places around the world. Every month, they send appeal mailings to raise funds for their mission efforts. For the November mailing, they wanted to include a Thanksgiving theme with a 64-page Scripture Guide booklet included. I used traditional Thanksgiving imagery/colors to appeal to an older audience. The design is clean, colorful, and easy to read. Recipients are encouraged to donate through the connection of the Thanksgiving season and Sister Dee Smith’s mission in Guatemala. For the Scripture Guide, the client requested a separate design to match the “Year of Healing” theme. I used teal colors and watercolor imagery to evoke feelings of calmness and renewal.
